Who is Toby Foster?: Toby Foster is a folk singer from Bloomington who remarkably isn't on Plan-It-X records since he's so good and from the labels hometown. I guess that's his choice and not there's because I'd jump at the chance to release stuff by this guy.
A Drum and An Open Window?: A folk band! They're from Bosten and they sing with all the optimism of youth, it's been said that A Drum and An Open Window is about staying young forever, hopefully that means lots of more music from them.
What Does It Sound Like?: It sounds like something you wanna listen too. It's uplifting and life affirming, there's enough bad things in the world already without me reviewing a real soppy sad record. Although I do love to indulge in a bit of playful depression, but not today! Think Paul Baribeau, Ryan Harvey, Evan Greer.
That All Well and Good, But Why Should I Listen To It?: Well I will tell you Sir! You should listen to this split because you deserve it. Forget all the hatred in the world, forget the boy or girl who doesn't love you, forget your weight, forget everything that makes you sad and remember that there's optimism in the world. When the world is too much pop your headphones in and go for a run while these songs are playing. If you do this I'm sure you'll feel better. It's happy! It's an album that appriciates the little things in the world and reminds you that it ain't so bad. Do yourself a favour and let yourself remember why you listen to music in the first, and this is the record to do it. Not a bad song on it.
